Waterfront Lifestyles

When moving to or buying investment property on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, many consider purchasing in a waterfront community. Homes in our area may be built on the white sands of our beaches or the tranquil waters of the Roanoke or Albemarle Sound. Our area also has a multitude of homes located on the marshy sounds or the deep water canals of Colington. Waterfront living is a relaxing lifestyle that so many on the Outer Banks have the opportunity to experience.

Boating Lifestyles

The history of the Outer Banks of North Carolina has long been associated with heroic watermen saving lives in the treacherous seas, Blackbeard the Pirate, and its unbelievable geography for boating and fishing. When most people think of the Outer Banks they immediately conger up memories of deep sea charter boat fishing, or Sound cruising at sunset. Whether you are crossing one of the two bridges entering the Outer Banks, or just lounging on the beach, you cannot avoid the abundance of boats present in our community. Children are brought up playing water sports and residents spend their days fishing, sailing, or just cruising the coast. The sun shines and temperature is mild most of the year providing pristine conditions for the water enthusiasts.

Fishing is the greatest pastime for Outer Banks locals and vacationers. Tournaments are held year round and mostly in the fall and spring. Marlin, sailfish, mahi mahi, mackerel, yellow fin tuna, and giant bluefin tuna are just a few of the trophies anglers can pull from the North Carolina coastal waters. Due to the location of the Outer Banks, trips to the famous Gulfstream are much quicker than any other coastal region in the United States.

There are many large marinas that cater to the boating community. Oregon Inlet Fishing Center is a mecca for offshore enthusiasts. Located at the foot of the historic Bonner Bridge leading to Hatteras Island, Oregon Inlet provides instant access to the Atlantic Ocean and world class blue marlin.

Pirates Cove Marina is located in the quaint town of Manteo where some men and women continue to make their living fishing the massive waters of the Atlantic. Pirates Cove hosts some of the area's top fishing tournaments. With close to 20 full time Charter fishing vessels, Pirates Cove is a must stop for any outdoorsmen.

Boating is a way of life for most Outer Banks residents. Come join the island lifestyle.
